5 – Stars!

I really enjoyed this smart, funny romantic comedy.

The author had me with the opening lines of her prologue, and I knew I’d enjoy her writing style and voice.

“You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.”
Who in the world came up with that shitty phrase? It’s my least favourite quote of all time. I spent my entire childhood wishing I was somewhere better than my tiny hometown. Where I grew up, football reigned and being a vegetarian was on par with being a Satanist.

Josephine Keller has left her small town in Texas to pursue her dream of working in the fashion industry as a blogger.
After being in the city for a couple of weeks, Josephine is trying very hard not to lose her hope that she’ll find a job… any job.

Josephine has the opportunity to attend a fashion gala where she meets Julian Lefray.
Julian is the brother and silent partner to a designer she’d just submitted a resume to that afternoon.

After spending some time in the ladies room and giving herself a much-needed pep talk, Josephine decides this is her opportunity to shine, and boldly speaks to Julian about considering her for the job.

Josephine gets the job, but right from the moment they laid eyes on one another the heat between them is intense, and the chemistry sizzlin.
They work extremely well together, and soon a great friendship develops.
With LOTS of sexual tension.

Julian is a wonderful male lead. He’s smart, handsome, and has a great sense of humour. I love his devotion to his sister, and the protective streak he has towards Josephine.

This story was a funny, smart great quick read.
