This is a full-length novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the fourth book in the ‘Knitting in the City’ series.

Synopsis

There are three things you need to know about Ashley Winston: 1) She has six brothers and they all have beards, 2) She is a reader, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Former beauty queen, Ashley Winston’s preferred coping strategy is escapism. She escaped her Tennessee small town, loathsome father, and six brothers eight years ago. Now she escapes life daily via her Amazon kindle one-click addiction. However, when a family tragedy forces her to return home, Ashley can’t escape the notice of Drew Runous— local Game Warden, bear wrestler, philosopher, and everyone’s favourite guy. Drew’s irksome philosophizing, in particular, makes Ashley want to run for the skyscrapers, especially since he can’t seem to keep his exasperating opinions— or his soulful poetry, steadfast support, and delightful hands— to himself. Pretty soon the girl who wanted nothing more than the escape of the big city finds she’s lost her heart in small-town Tennessee.

First Read: September 21, 2014

It was a perfect day to read this book. It was pouring rain outside and freezing cold. I gobbled this amazing book up throughout the day.

I absolutely love this series, and it’s characters!

Once again Ms Reid brings her readers on a wonderful journey with her colourful characters, amazing writing, and a fantastic storyline.

The main characters Ashley and Drew are amazingly, perfect together!

This is a book of sorrow, redemption, forgiveness, and of course love.

I finished this book last night and the first thing I wanted to do as soon as I woke up was tell everybody how friggin great this book was.

Marriage of Inconvenience is the last book in the
“Knitting in the City”
Series.
THE. LAST. BOOK.
I don’t know if you realize the magnitude of this statement.
You see, readers of this series have gone on a wonderful journey of getting to know and love these incredibly SMART women who all met through a knitting group (and I say smart because when the reader is reading these books they are engaged, challenged, and encouraged to have an open mind to learn new things about the world and maybe even themselves ….. the use of a dictionary helps sometimes too).
These women are loyal, funny, colorful, and quirky, so of course, they need to have particularly unique partners “who get them”.

I love this book!
The story was great.
The writing fantastic.
The characters were, dare I say, perfectly imperfect.

Excerpt

Staring at his chin, because I couldn’t quite lift my eyes any higher, I cleared my throat. “Should we get ready for bed?”
“Sure,” he said, his voice a rumble. Dan’s eyes were on me, I felt the weight of them.
My hands came to the hem of my skirt and I hesitated, feeling winded for some reason. Sneaking a glance at him, I immediately wished I hadn’t. His gaze was watchful, but it was also unmistakably hot in a way that seemed at once both avaricious and accusatory. The vice tightened around my lungs.
Kiss him! Just freaking kiss him! You want numbered steps? Fine. You kiss him- check. He kisses you back- check. Then you make out- check. Check the boxes.
I licked my lips, balling my hands into fists at my sides again, preparing to follow my hasty list.
But then he said, “Undress me.”
My breath caught. On instinct, my eyes lifted and collided with his in much the same way our bodies had collided at the top of the stairs just moments ago. Jarring. Startling. Thrilling. This time I couldn’t look away because this time I was falling. He made no move to catch me.
“What? What did you say?”
His eyes narrowed, which served only to increase the intensity of his gaze from smolder to inferno. “Take my clothes off.”
I stared at him, licking my lips again, and shaking my head. That wasn’t one of my steps.
Lifting my chin, I moved to kiss him. He leaned to the side, evading me even as his eyes dropped to my mouth.
“Take off my shirt and I’ll give you a kiss.” He’d used his naughty-secret voice.
An explosion of heat erupted in my belly, and now I was hot all over. I couldn’t figure out if the heat was embarrassment or arousal or both.
He didn’t give me a chance to figure it out. His hands lifted and he undid his cuffs; then they moved to the top button of his shirt.
“You better take over,” he said darkly, “or else you’re not getting that kiss.”

Scenes from the Hallway, an all new novella from USA Today bestselling author Penny Reid, is LIVE!!

Synopsis

From the USA TODAY Bestselling romantic comedy series, ‘Scenes from the Hallway,’ Knitting in the City #6.5

You know who I am.
I swear too much, I crack too many jokes, and I got a thing for Kat Tanner; a messy thing, a distracting thing, a getting-in-the-way-of-everything thing; a thing that makes being in the same room with the woman torture. Sometimes it’s the good kind. Mostly, it’s not.
What you don’t know is how it all started. You don’t know how we met, you might not know what happened in Vegas (or the morning after), and you definitely don’t know what happened after that.
You want to know the story before the story? Well . . . here you go.
But be careful what you ask for. As I’ve discovered the hard way, you might not like it.

‘Scenes from the Hallway’ is a companion short prequel/short story (11k words) for the upcoming book, ‘Marriage of Inconvenience,’ and includes the first 3 chapters of the soon to be released novel! (‘Marriage of Inconvenience’ releases March 6, 2018.)

WARNING: This short story contains a lot of cussing. Do not download or read if you dislike curse words in novels. WARNING!

My thoughts

This is perhaps one of the weirdest, and one of the best stories I’ve read in a very long time.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO HARD!!

The story is brilliant, funny and wonderfully executed.

Marie is fed up with the dating scene especially after a bizarre and embarrassing first date with someone she met online.
(view spoiler)
So much so, that she’s researching different ways to fulfill her need for companionship and intimacy without the hassle of putting herself out there in the brutal dating scene.

Penny Reid takes her readers on Marie’s wonderful, and unique journey of the discovery of possible alternatives.
After all the data has been collected, Marie finally comes to a conclusion of what she wants and what she’s not willing to settle for.

I absolutely LOVED this story!

 photo disneygif_5.gif

Synopsis

There are three things you need to know about Marie Harris:
1) She’s fed up with online dating,
2) She’s so fed up, she’s willing to forego the annoyance and consider more creative alternatives, and
3) She knows how to knit.

After the most bizarre and irritating first date in the history of human kind, Marie is looking for an alternative to men. With the help of her friends, she quickly identifies a few possibilities:

Need a cuddle? Use a professional cuddler. Need affirmation? Get yourself a life coach. Need an orgasm? Try orgasm meditation! Why does she need the hassle of a romantic partner when she can meet all her needs with paid services?
But then her irritating date resurfaces. And he’s not at all the person she thought he was. And he suggests a different—and crazier—solution to her dilemma . . .
As everyone knows (or will soon come to realize), traditional relations between humans are a thing of the past. Robots are our future. And if robots are our future, then why do we need other people at all?

Dating-ish is available EVERYWHERE!
