Synopsis
Her fake husband is a Work In Progress…
Work in Progress, an all-new romantic comedy from Staci Hart, is available now!
I never thought my first kiss would be on my wedding day.
But here I stand, clutching a bouquet of pale pink roses behind the doors of a Las Vegas chapel, and at the end of the aisle is the absolute last man I imagined would be waiting for me.
Thomas Bane.
Bestselling author. Notorious bad boy. Savagely handsome, dark as sin, chiselled as stone. And somehow, my soon-to-be husband.
Marry him, and I’ll land my dream job. Save him, and I’ll walk away with everything I’ve ever wanted. All I have to do is remember it’s all for show.
None of it is real, no matter how real it feels.
But first, I have to survive the kiss.
And with lips like his, my heart doesn’t stand a chance.
“5 – Without trust, there is no love Stars!”
You know when you read a book and you absolutely fall in love with characters because you see their strengths and weaknesses.
You like how they talk to one another, they have great conversations, they’re comfortable with each other, and they banter like they were made for each other.
Even though Amelia and Thomas’s relationship first started out as a business deal, it didn’t take long for it to develop into something beautiful and precious.
Trust between the two of them happened almost immediately.
Amelia would do everything in her power to protect Thomas, and Thomas’s protective instincts kicked into full gear when he was around Amelia.
There was mutual respect and a balance of power.
But, what I liked the most about Amelia’s character was that even though she was inexperienced with relationships, she wasn’t portrayed as being “stupid”.
She was smart, funny and protective of the people she loved.
What she lacked in experience she more than made up in compassion, empathy and love.
And even reading this book and knowing Amelia’s decision was going to come back and bite her, it still hurt to read that part of the book.
One of my favourite quotes:
“Everyone needs forgiveness.
I’ll beg yours again someday, and you’ll beg mine.
Because love isn’t perfect, but forgiveness is absolute.
I will always forgive you if you’ll promise to do the same.”
The Dedication at the beginning of this story says it all for me.
“To the quiet girls,
The soft girls,
The girls with more thoughts
than words:
Love speaks loud and clear.”
I thought everything about this book was amazing!
